This is absolutely encouraged! The fourth trimester can be the most daunting, thrilling and exhausting time all rolled into one. That’s why it’s absolutely vital to establish a support network around you right from the first moment your bub is earthside.

Mums with children of any age need support and connection. We understand that the need for a village doesn’t suddenly disappear once your little one is on the move. Your bub could be 6 months, 9 months, 12 months or 18 months. The bottom line is that age is just a number. Our mothers groups are for YOU and we want to ensure that every mum has the opportunity to access our groups.

Keeping Mum is all about providing a regular, welcoming space for you and any number of your young children. We know that not everyone has alternative care for older siblings readily available in order to attend a baby-only mothers group. That’s why, at KM, multiple children are more than welcome to join you while you learn from our special guests and develop friendships with the other mums. However, in order to get the most out of your mothers group experience and to ensure the safety of our littlest members, please bring along some quiet activities to engage any toddlers. This will enable you to participate fully in every single one of our carefully designed sessions throughout the term.

Our programs are inclusive to first-time, second-time, third-time or more-time mums! The discussion topics are relevant to ALL mums, no matter where you are on your postpartum journey. Every unique session has a focus on sharing, laughing and building strong bonds between each member of the group.

At Keeping Mum, our mothers group programs have been designed based on our Founders Jen and Kristelle’s combined expertise in Early Childhood Education and Psychology. We offer the perfect mix of facilitated discussion topics for mum, shared knowledge from our esteemed special guests and unique play-based sessions sprinkled throughout the program. There really is something for everyone! Did we also mention that there’s complimentary barista-brewed coffee and morning tea provided each week in our standalone mothers group programs? With the same mums, bubs and/or toddlers booked in for the whole term, there’s no doubt you’ll make some very special connections. We’ve often been told that attending our groups has been the best part of a mum’s whole motherhood journey!

Absolutely! Our 10 week programs run 4 times per year, and we’d love to have you join us for 2, 3 or, ideally, 4 terms, to get the full Keeping Mum mat leave experience. Each term’s programs are completely different, jam-packed with brand-new topics, activities and special guests, to keep you enthralled. We find that the more times a mum returns, the more comfortable they become, the bigger their support system, and the more empowered they feel in themselves.

  1. Baby bag with essentials (nappies, wipes, a couple of toys)
  2. Blankets - one for mum to sit on and one for baby to lie on
  3. Socks for mum to wear on our super comfy playmat
  4. Quiet activities/toys and snacks for those bringing toddlers

Due to the nature of our one-of-a-kind mothers group programs, we must close bookings to new registrants after week 2. The purpose is to create strong relationships within the group and avoid any disruption from new members joining throughout the program. Aside from that, all the spots are typically snapped up lightning fast so, once the room is at capacity, we just can’t squeeze any more people into the space, no matter how hard we might try!

We understand that Nanna or Dad may want to come along occasionally too, but with the emphasis on our program being around supporting mums to form connections within a close-knit group, we simply can’t have new people joining for one-off sessions. In addition, our numbers are capped so, when programs are fully booked, we don’t have the capacity to accommodate every mum and a plus one.

Our values are centred around being as inclusive as we can possibly be. If you both take on the role of mum, then our mothers groups are for you. Please note you will need to book two spots for each of you to attend.

To put it simply, if you identify as a mother, then you will always be welcome at Keeping Mum. Many of our topics of conversation are around pregnancy, birth and the associated effects on the mother’s mental and physical health. All experiences of motherhood are welcome and sharing individual stories is vital to help mums connect and feel valued. No two mother’s journeys are the same, but the commonality of raising little people is what brings us together as a coterie. If you have any further questions, please feel free to reach out to us.

We would love to support you on the journey to become a Keeping Mum Host. It’s one of the most rewarding, flexible, fun and family-friendly jobs out there! Simply CLICK HERE to find out more about this exciting opportunity.

Unfortunately, we are unable to provide refunds due to a change of mind, illness, travel or other commitments. This is due to the time and costs associated with each registration.

We totally appreciate the unpredictability of life with a baby/toddler, but we hope you also understand our position as a small start-up business.
